What is simply the difference between Free and Pro/Premium versions?

The Free version, unlike Pro and Premium versions, is not compatible with conditional logic and addons except Modern skin. You can find the list of Visual Product Configurator addons here.

Are the addons a one-time payment?

Yes! You just pay once and they are yours forever.

Can Visual Product Configurator work for other platforms or just WordPress?

Just WordPress for the time being.

Can I use the plugin on one (staging) site then activate it on another (live) site later?

Yes you can. If you use your license key on a website when it is already active elsewhere, the license will simply be deactivated from the previous website and be active on the new one. However, the same license can be active on mutiple sites at the same time if they share the same domain. For exemple: mysite.com, staging.mysite.com, mysite.com/fr/, en.mysite.com etc.
